Who we are
Alpha Reader Books is an online store selling digital books and academic research papers in PDF format. You can reach us at support@alphareaderbooks.com for any question about an order, a title or these terms.
What we sell
All items in the catalogue are digital products delivered as downloadable PDF files. No physical goods are shipped. Each product page states the title, author, subject category, page count where available, publication year and format.
Prices and currency
All prices are shown on the product page and are charged in US dollars (USD) unless stated otherwise. Applicable taxes are calculated and displayed at checkout before you confirm payment. Prices may change at any time, but the price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
Payments and card processing
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your card number, expiry date or security code; that information is transmitted directly to Stripe and handled under its own terms and privacy policy, available at stripe.com/legal and stripe.com/privacy. By paying you also agree to those terms. Your card statement will show a charge from Alpha Reader Books.
Delivery of your purchase
After a successful payment you receive access to a secure, time-limited download link for the purchased file, and a copy is sent to the email address used at checkout. Files are never published at a public URL. If a link expires or fails, contact support@alphareaderbooks.com and we will reissue it.
Licence and permitted use
Every purchase grants one personal, non-transferable licence to read the file. Redistribution, resale, sublicensing, public posting or removal of security measures from a purchased PDF is not permitted. Copyright remains with the rights holder.
Refunds and cancellations
Because titles are delivered instantly, purchases are generally final once a download link has been opened. We issue a full refund when a file is corrupted, incomplete or clearly different from its description and we could not resolve the problem. Full details are in our Refund Policy at /refund.
Disputes and chargebacks
Please contact us first at support@alphareaderbooks.com so we can resolve the issue directly. Where a dispute is raised with your card issuer, we will cooperate with Stripe and provide the transaction and delivery records requested.
Acceptable use and restrictions
You agree to use the store lawfully, not to attempt unauthorised access to files or accounts, and not to use the store for fraudulent, infringing or otherwise prohibited activity, including any business or product category restricted by Stripe's Restricted Businesses list. We may refuse or cancel an order and terminate access where we detect such use. Purchases are available only where we can lawfully sell them, and you are responsible for complying with your local import and export rules.
Privacy
Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy at /privacy. Order and payment data shared with Stripe is processed under Stripe's privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the store evolves. The version published on this page applies to any order placed after it appears.
Demonstration notice
This store is currently a demonstration. Payment processing and customer accounts are not enabled yet, so no live charges are taken until Stripe checkout is switched on.
